Geomancy
Builds a shield chart from four Mother figures, cast at random or set by hand: four Daughters, four Nieces, two Witnesses, the Judge and the Reconciler, with each figure’s inner element, planet and sign after John Michael Greer, and the chart’s element balance. Geomancy arose in the Arabic world as ʿilm al-raml, “the science of the sand”; Hugh of Santalla’s twelfth-century Ars geomantiae is among the earliest Latin treatises.
